Shadows and Bonds of Trust

The drow mage refuses La Maestra's offer of help and starts casting. Two fiendish spirits, summoned by two mages, drop Aelion to the ground for the third session in a row. Easter Ashwell throws himself across him and keeps him breathing through three death saves. Aelion, on one hit point, rises and destroys the last spirit with a smite, and the surviving mages run.

After a rest, the party finds a green-lit chamber with a ruined forge and a figure entombed in jade-like crystal, marked with Lathander's symbol on his chest. La Maestra plays a song of freedom, Aelion circles the prison with his holy maul, and the jade shatters. Tüül Oakencask steps out, a head priest of the town's church who has been asleep for thirty years. He remembers the miners finding a giant golden egg, and remembers the church's representatives arriving within two days. After that, nothing.
