La Maestra
Half-elf bard, College of Swords
A half-elf bard of the College of Swords: a swaggering duelist-performer with a rapier, thrown daggers, and a shamisen she inherited from her Yuan-ti father. She has darkvision, speaks Elvish and Common, and turns a sharp tongue on anyone who thinks they deserve to rule because of who their parents were.
What we know about her
- She sits with her back to the wall. In Session 8 she admitted why: she has a history with the Zhentarim. In Session 10 she told Aelion she once worked with the Black Network as a young woman in over her head, is not proud of it, and would never do it again.
- She is suspicious of nearly everything, and she is usually right. Aelion: "She's suspicious, but she's often right."
- She fights with Vicious Mockery, rapier, and daggers, and her music can shatter stone. She has used a thunderous blast to break a skeleton, to break open a mountainside, and to knock down a wall.
- She carries a portable Dragon Chess set, and used it to get Roger talking.
- She believes forgetting is a kind of death. "They're not pets. They're not herd animals."
In the story so far
She found the glowing golden shell fragment under a stone in the chamber of enormous bones, and swore to the fragment that the party would not leave it behind. She bluffed the hidden duergar with a claimed vision from their god, then pried the green gem off their statue anyway and brought the altar chamber down. She played the green gem like a theremin and sang the song of freedom that broke Tüül out of his jade. She found Tamsin in her cave, and lost her again. Since then she has been Tamsin's most persistent suspect, and she has been quietly tearing her old room apart. In Session 11 she launched off Aelion's back to the third floor of the bell tower, came down the stairs inside, and blew a hole through the wall onto both priestesses: "Honey, I'm home."
